Users who have recently updated their Internet Explorer version may experience the status bar of their browser being disabled when using the Johnson County Online Mapping application. To enable the status bar, which shows coordinates and measurements for the map, set jocogov.org as a trusted site under Tools | Internet Options | Security | Sites. Historic Imagery Available Online!
AIMS is pleased to announce availability of new 1954 historic aerial photography. In a joint project, Johnson County AIMS and Public Works were awarded a 2008 Heritage Trust Fund Award by the Board of County Commissioners. As part of the grant, the previously scanned mylar images were georeferenced and mosaiced. The resulting photography from 1954 is available for viewing through the Online Mapping application and for purchase thru Digital Data Request (DDR).
Additionally, as part of the Heritage Trust Grant, AIMS will soon release a georeferenced digital layer of the 1941 aerial photography. Previously captured 1991 and 1994 aerial photography have also been recently added to the Online Mapping application and DDR.

The AIMS website is available and functioning, though not fully tested, for users with Internet Explorer version 8. For full functionality, you will need to view the site in Compatibility View. To do this, follow the steps in this help document. If you experience any difficulties while using IE 8 on the AIMS website, please contact the Mapper of the Day.
