Planimetric Updates - AIMS has published updated planimetric data for buildings, edge of pavement, fences, and recreation, for all of Johnson County, KS, based on the March 2023 aerial image. Water features and vegetation were also updated in locations of new development only. These datesets are viewable in Online Mapping, and available for download through Digital Data Request (DDR). County-wide, a total of 2565 new buildings (1696 primary structures) and 241 acres of new pavement edge was added. In addition, 5 miles of new fencing were captured. This is the first time AIMS has delivered planimetrics during the same calendar year the imagery was flown. In the future, we plan on a yearly spring imagery flight and planimetric data updates by fall. Please contact the Mapper of the Day if you have any questions.
